Abstract

The economy of Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir Regency based on the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices in 2024 reached IDR 9.39 trillion and at constant prices in 2010 reached IDR 5.53 trillion.

The economy of Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir Regency in 2024 grew by 4.98 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the Food and Beverage Provision Sector experienced growth of 8.55 percent. Several other sectors that grew positively were; Financial Services and Insurance grew by 8.48 percent, Wholesale and Retail Trade; Car and Motorcycle Repair grew by 7.98 percent, Education Services grew by 7.96 percent, Electricity and Gas Procurement grew by 7.94 percent, and Information and Communication grew by 7.66 percent.

The Economic Structure of Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir Regency according to business fields in 2024 is dominated by three main business fields, namely: Mining and Quarrying 38.94 percent, Wholesale and Retail Trade; Car and Motorcycle Repair 17.26 percent and Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries 15.68 percent.

When viewed from the sources of economic growth in Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir Regency in 2024, the Mining and Quarrying Sector is the highest source of growth, namely 1.78 percent, followed by the Wholesale and Retail Trade Sector; Car and Motorcycle Repair by 0.96 percent, and the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Sector by 0.92 percent.
